I often find it difficult to find inspiration for blog posts.

I look around, thinking to myself ‘what could I write about that is interesting?’ and come up with nothing. It’s hard to find inspiration when you are looking for it. What I really need to do is make a note of things which inspire me as I go throughout my day, then I can refer back to these notes when I have a spare moment and write about them.

I do find that Pinterest has a lot of interesting and inspiring ideas to blog about. And when I am feeling lost, I look through it and save things which I would like to write about. The bad thing about this is although the intentions are there and all the ideas are neatly saved into a board, I always forget to go back to these boards and look at what I have saved. I don’t know if anyone else does this too; always finding new pins to save rather than looking at the ones you have already saved?

If I did look through all of the pins that I have saved to my ‘blogging’ board, I could probably find enough topics to write about for the rest of the year! I need to get into the mindset of planning my posts, rather than just writing them as and when I have the time.

The scheduling feature on WordPress is a really handy tool for this, and I have started to use it. I made sure, during my holiday, that I dedicated time to writing blog posts and then scheduled them out over a couple of weeks. I just need to continue to do it and get a backlog of posts scheduled and ready to go, so that I don’t have to write posts on the fly. But now that I am back at work, it can be hard to find the time to sit down and write consistently for a few hours when I get home; there are so many other things that I need to do. I am hoping that this weekend I will be able to sit and write for a while.

How do you find inspiration for your blog? Do you write in blocks of time and then schedule the posts out, or do you write as and when you want to?
